    Hey coders,

I’m having some problems with a contact form.

    This is the problem:
Website is build with Wordpress. We are using a contact form, build with contactform7. When a visitor sends us a message via that form, it shows only a proxy IP, which is our own proxy IP, instead of the one from the visitor.

Now after searching a lot online, I’ve come to understand that x-forwarded-for can actually show the real IP.

How to implement this in contactform7/Wordpress, I HAVE NO IDEA :(

I was hoping to get some support around here.

    Thanks a lot.

  2. I didn't get your point of proxy IP.
Here is what you can do for IP - http://vincesamios.com/internetmarketing/adding-visitor-ip-and-current-page-to-contact-form-7-wordpress-plugin
and I think the latest version do has the provision of using current page.

it's not sending the real ip, but the one from the proxy of the server,. 192.168.x.x

i need the real ip, i read that it can be retrieved via the x-forwarded-header

  4. I guess we can't play with the headers much. I think you should try asking the developer itself.
